Top teams in West take home weekly WWPA honors

Biola's Veralie Naranjo and Cal State East Bay's Daniela Passoni have been named the WWPA Players of the Week for the week of Apr. 8-14, 2024.

WWPA Offensive Player of the Week
Biola's Veralie Naranjo has earned WWPA Offensive Player of the Week for the third time in 2024 after helping the Eagles to a critical conference victory and keeping their hopes alive for the top seed in the West Region. Tied 7-7 heading into the fourth quarter, the Commerce, Calif. native exploded for three goals in a four-minute span, helping secure a four-goal win over Cal State Monterey Bay. She added four scores against Azusa Pacific the following day, finishing the week with eight goals, five steals, two drawn exclusions and an assist.

WWPA Defensive Player of the Week
Cal State East Bay goalkeeper Daniela Passoni takes home her third WWPA Defensive Player of the Week award of 2024 after anchoring the Pioneers to a pair of wins over their final weekend of regular season play. The senior from South Africa posted 12 saves against both UC Merced and Fresno Pacific and registered a .667 save percentage in the process. Passoni and CSUEB sit in first place in the West Region heading into the final weekend of conference play.
