Tatum Benson, a 2023 All-WWPA First Team selection, has been named WWPA Offensive Player of the Week after a standout weekend for Fresno Pacific. The junior center scored four times as the Sunbirds jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in their season-opening win against Redlands. The Gig Harbor, Wash. product then added a hat trick in the afternoon against No. 12 UC San Diego. Benson scored on seven of her 15 shots, drew a team-high five exclusions, and added two field blocks and steal to help FPU to a 1-1 day at the Lancer Joust.
