Gannon’s Marco, Salem’s Krstonosic take home final WWPA Player of the Week awards

Two standouts from the WWPA Morgantown Classic have been recognized for their performances over three games in West Virginia.

WWPA Offensive Player of the Week

The WWPA's leading offensive player has earned WWPA Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in 2023. Nikola Krstonosic, currently on the Cutino Award Watch List, helped the Tigers sweep their own WWPA Morgantown Classic and secure the No. 1 East Region seed for the 2023 WWPA Men's Championship. The junior from Serbia led the competition with 39 points, 23 goals and 16 assists while averaging 13.0 points per contest - five more than any other player. He also broke the school record for goals (119) and assists (81) in a season. In the clinching game against McKendree, Krstonosic scored nine goals and dished out four assists for 14 points. He followed that up Sunday with a 15-point performance against Gannon (7g, 8a). Krstonosic has logged 10 games of double digit points in 2023.
