Salem University started the year 3-0 with three straight wins over NCAA Division III competition, holding all three opponents under double digit scoring. A large reason for that was goalkeeper Duarte Costa, who racked up 40 saves and an impressive .727 save percentage in the process. He gave up just six goals per contest and had four steals in the process.
