Kane takes home first East Region Defensive Player of the Week, Murad wins Offensive
Fresno Pacific's Maddie Murad and McKendree's Sydney Kane have been named WWPA Players of the Week for the week of Feb. 5-11, 2024.
WWPA Offensive Player of the Week
Attacker Maddie Murad played a leading role in Fresno Pacific's overtime loss to NCAA Division I Santa Clara. The sophomore out of Clovis, Calif. registered a hat trick in the opening period to hand FPU a lead and finished the day with four scores. She drew two exclusions and added a steal in the process. Murad has netted multiple goals in three of her four games played this season.

WWPA Defensive Player of the Week
McKendree netminder Sydney Kane has been named WWPA Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Bearcats to a pair of wins in their home openers. She allowed a single score in the win over Carthage College, saving 15 shots (.938 save percentage) and adding a steal in 24 minutes. Against Augustana, the junior from Bradley, Ill. notched 12 saves. On the day, Kane posted a .750 save percentage. Kane leads the conference in save percentage (.541) and goals against average (10.44), and she is second in total saves (73).
