Salem wins East Region title, No. 1 seed for WWPA Championship
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - The Salem women's water polo team has captured the Western Water Polo Association East Region title with one conference game remaining.
The Tigers (3-0 WWPA) clinched the East Region No. 1 seed for the 2026 WWPA Championship by virtue of Gannon's (1-3 WWPA) Saturday morning victory over McKendree (1-2 WWPA) at the Salem Invitational.
Salem also earned the East No. 1 seed in 2021 and 2022. On both occasions, the Tigers went on to win the conference title.
The Tigers will open the WWPA Championship on Friday, April 10, against the West No. 4 seed at 1 p.m. ET.
Salem ends the regular season on Sunday morning against McKendree.
