Eleven WWPA standouts earn ACWPC All-America honors

The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) released its Division II All-America Team Wednesday afternoon.

The WWPA led the country with eleven players honored between the First- and Honorable Mention teams. WWPA players took up six of the eight spots on the First Team, and five of the seven spots on Honorable Mention.

Conference champion Biola and runner-up Cal State East Bay each had three players listed.

WWPA Player of the Year Veralie Naranjo received her second First Team nod, while WWPA Championship Most Outstanding Player Maria Roldan Gonzalez received her inaugural First Team accolade after a Honorable Mention spot a year ago. Alicia Fregoso, who anchored the Eagles to their second-straight WWPA crown, was named Honorable Mention.

CSUEB goalkeeper Daniela Passoni capped off her college career with her fifth ACWPC All-America award, including her third on the First Team. Luna Sarmiento earned her second straight First Team award, while WWPA Newcomer of the Year Alex Andrist was included on the Honorable Mention list.

Fresno Pacific's Tatum Benson received her second First Team nod. McKendree's Joey Rebelo rounded out the First Team as a first-time honoree.

Mercyhurst, who rallied toward the end of the season and earned the Third Place trophy during the WWPA Championship, had a player named All-American for the first time since 2021. In fact, two: All-WWPA standouts Allie Dombkowski and Freya Green received Honorable Mention honors.

Salem's Taeghen Hack ends her college career by being included on the Honorable Mention team.
