Shelby Fortune

Cal State Monterey Bay’s Shelby Fortune has been named the WWPA Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 16-22, 2023.

The San Diego native registered a team-high eight goals while tallying three assists over four matches at the UC Santa Barbara Winter Invite. Her standout performance came against Ottawa (Ariz.), where the Otters rallied behind Fortune’s five-goal performance for an 11-8 victory over the Spirit.
 

CSUMB’s leading returning goal scorer from a year ago, the sophomore added a two-goal, one-assist outing against No. 11 UC San Diego.

The Otters host Santa Clara in their home opening on Saturday, January 28 at 1pm.
